Our History
Maintaining a Legacy of Service, Quality, & Trust

Where It All Started
Components Company was founded in 1934 by H.A. Loomis as a Manufacturers’ Representative Group located in downtown Milwaukee. By the 1950s, the plant expanded and moved to Lisbon Avenue in Milwaukee where it became an official distributor for the B.F. Goodrich Rivnut and Plusnut fasteners. At the time, this was a big move into new technology and was one of the first instances of Components Company adapting to new market trends and customer needs.
Strategic Investment for Sustainable Growth
In 1979, Joe Wittig joined the company and quickly made a noticeable impact. After the company’s co-owners retired in the early 1980’s, Joe became the sole owner of the business. Through his vision and innovation, Components Company expanded to a full-service, value-added manufacturing, sourcing, and distribution company serving a wide range of OEMs, manufacturers, and other businesses across industry, throughout the Midwest and beyond.

Breaking Ground & Incorporation
Under the leadership of Joe Wittig, Components Company continued to expand, moving twice more before landing at its current location at 3320 Intertech Drive, Brookfield, WI. During these expansions, Joe identified and recruited new talent to help streamline processes and improve offerings. With an unmatched eye for detail and an unrelenting tenacity to serve his employees and customers to the best of his abilities, Joe strategically invested in new technology, equipment, production, and team members that allowed the business to flourish.
On December 4, 1988, the business was officially incorporated as Components Company, Inc. setting a foundation for a new era of growth and innovation.
Standardization, Process Improvement, & Quality
In the early 1990s, Components Company set its sights on achieving process improvement and standardization by way of the globally acclaimed ISO certification. By 2000, Components Company received ISO 9001 certification, which has been ingrained in the company operations, management, and culture ever since. We proudly maintain this certification through all external audits. However, what sets us apart is our ongoing dedication of resources to the ISO framework. All employees are trained as internal auditors by an industry expert. Each year, we execute a robust, multi-stage internal audit that is then subjected to further scrutiny by a third party conducting an “audit of the audits”. This is all in addition to our annual external audit for certification!
By focusing on our standardization, we free up resources, create lean processes, and minimize errors, ensuring every part and component we assemble or produce meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations.
In 2010, we completed the construction of a new quality lab located adjacent to the shipping and receiving area which complemented and enhanced our existing state-of-the art production and manufacturing systems. With these capabilities, customers can set their own quality specifications and needs while our team will verify adherence and quality throughout the production process.

Carrying the Legacy Forward: The Current Era of Leadership
As Components Company continues to evolve, the heart of its success remains rooted in family. Gloria Wittig, Vice President and Owner, has played a vital role in guiding the company for over four decades, carrying forward the values of integrity, care, and long-term partnership that have defined the business since its earliest days under Joe Wittig’s leadership.
Today, the next generation is building on that foundation. President and CEO Ben Barrone brings a modern perspective to Components Company, one shaped by embracing technology, lean operations, and a passion for continuous improvement. Under Ben’s leadership, the company remains committed to service and innovation while evolving to meet the needs of a changing market.
Together, Gloria and Ben represent a powerful blend of legacy and forward momentum, continuing the Components Company tradition of excellence while preparing it for the future.
